23 Nov Gold Coast Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurants
The Gold Coast is quickly becoming recognised for its cuisine and most exciting for us is the easy access to amazing vegetarian and vegan restaurants which are popping up all over the GC – how exciting is that!
Here are some of the Essence of Living team’s favourite vegetarian and vegan restaurants on the Gold Coast. We’d love to hear from you too, leave your favs in the comments below.

Flour of Life Bakery
20 Siganto Dr, Helensvale QLD 4212
While not technically a restaurant, we think the Flour of Life Bakery deserves an honourable mention as they provide us with vegan versions of all our bakery favourites – yes, we’re talking donuts, cakes, slices, custard tarts, loaves of bread and croissants! Next time you’re on the northern end of the Coast, be sure to drop by for a ‘meat’ pie or maybe a square of vanilla slice – even the non-vegans will be impressed.
Govindas Pure Vegetarian
20 James St, Burleigh Heads (4220) and 3120 Surfers Paradise Blvd, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217
Govindas is perfect if you’re on the run or want to sit, chill and watch the world pass by. Choose from a huge variety of hot dishes eg. vege lasagne, dahl, curry, pakoras, amazing fresh bean and kofta salads to mouthwatering desserts (without the guilt!) all washed down with a delicious and refreshing lemon ginger juice!
The Kitchens, Robina Town Centre
A Byron Bay institution has made it’s way up the coast to grace us with healthy desserts and tasty plant-based snacks. A great place to hit mid-shopping trip for a quick meal, or maybe a house-brewed kombucha. You’ll find an array of the vegan desserts that Naked Treaties is known for, alongside a diverse menu of savoury options.
