The Essence of Living Yoga Philosophy (50hr) Course takes place at the Essence of Living Tallebudgera Valley Retreat on the stunning Gold Coast, Australia. Our training program truly over delivers, providing you with 60 hours of training, including 40 hours of face-to-face learning. Find out course dates, requirements and a course overview below.

This training will allow you to dive deeper into the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. You will unpack them, dissect them & understand them with the guidance of a teacher. Over five intimate days nestled into the trees of the Gold Coast Hinterland you can loose yourself in the wisdom of the sages with like minded lovers of ancient philosophy. Limited spaces. Bookings essential.

Students will be eligible to receive a 50 hour certification upon completion of all course work. This certificate can be used towards a 300hr yoga teacher training.

After first discovering Yoga and Pilates at the young age of 16, Michelle knew this was her calling and she wanted to share both the spiritual and physical benefits of the practice with others.

Course Outline

Yoga Philosophy

Includes the study of Patanjali Yoga Sutras, 196 Sutras compiled into four chapters; Sadhanapadah, Sadhanapadah, Vibhutipadah, Kaivalyapadah and how to firstly intellectualize and then integrate these ancient teachings into a practical and useful system for life.

Practicum

Includes practice sharing practical philosophy, receiving feedback, listening to others sharing and giving feedback.

Assessment

In order to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to be able to share the philosophy, there are a number of assessments required as a part of the course.

  • 1 written exam
  • 4 reflective essays on each chapter of the Yoga Sutras
  • 4 two minute presentations on the Yoga Sutras

Many of these pieces of assessment will be delivered during your training, however you do have a total of 6 months to complete all of your assessment.
Receive a 50 hour certification upon completion of all course work.

Required reading

There is key website you can use to complete the course, this will be referenced many times within the training. You do not have to read the website from start to finish before your training commences.
