The Essence of Living Pilates Level 1 teacher training takes place at the Essence of Living studio on the stunning Gold Coast, Australia and The Daily Dose studio in Melbourne, Australia. Our training program truly over delivers, providing you with 300 hours of training, including 194 of face-to-face learning. This course is approved for 15 CEC’s from Fitness Australia. Group Pilates Training
      • Develop a broad knowledge of Pilates exercises and adjustments
      • Instruct core, back, legs, buttocks and arm strengthening exercises
      • Apply safe sequencing, teaching method, adjustments and assists for core, back, legs, buttocks, arm strengthening exercises
      • Instruct and monitor Pilates programs
      • Plan and deliver group Pilates sessions
      • Deliver approved community Pilates programs
Anatomy and Physiology
      • Apply anatomy and physiology principles in a Pilates context
Exercise Programming
      • Plan and deliver Pilates programs
      • Plan and deliver an endurance athlete Pilates program
      • Undertake long term Pilates programming
      • Apply exercise science principles to planning Pilates exercise
      • Plan and deliver personal Pilates training
Special Populations
      • Develop and apply an awareness of specific populations to Pilates delivery
      • Plan and deliver Pilates to older clients with managed conditions
      • Work collaboratively with medical and allied health professionals
      • Interact effectively with children

Assessment

In order to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to be a pilates teacher, there are a number of assessments required as a part of the course.

      • 40 class participations (can be signed off before course commencement)
      • 6 class observation reports
      • 4 one hour class deliveries (with your fellow teacher trainees)
      • Business Plan (including market research)
      • 2 written exams (yoga philosophy & asana and anatomy)
      • 2 reflective essays/book reports
      • Develop client screening appraisal
      • Personal Development plan

Many of these pieces of assessment will be delivered during your training, however you do have a total of 6 months to complete all of your assessment.

Required reading

There are a number of books required to complete the course, these will be referenced within the training. You do not have to read them cover to cover before training commences.
